Q&A

Here are answers to all the questions answered live on the webinar!

Q: If I schedule a report in Report Writer, will it only include new data since the previous report was sent?
A: The report will include all data that matches the filters you've set on the report. Report Writer doesn't check when the report was last run or sent when deciding which data to include.
If you want each scheduled report to contain only fresh or recently added data, use date-based filters. For example, you could filter by Date Created – in the last 7 days to include only records created during the previous week.

Q: We’d like more training on how to use Report Writer. Do you offer any training?
A: Yes! We offer a Workflows Masterclass, which is a great option for teams who want to build their knowledge and confidence.
The masterclass combines trainer-led sessions with our Professional Services team alongside practical activities for self-led learning and embedding your knowledge between sessions. We've seen a lot of success with this format, particularly for teams looking to build their skills and put what they've learned into practice.

Q: One of the things I have trouble with is knowing which data source is the one to choose based on the name of the source. Is there any documentation which gives any info on what each data source includes?
A: This is a common challenge when you're getting started with Report Writer, as the names of the data sources don't always make it immediately obvious which information they contain.
Our Report Writer Common Data Sources & Relationships guide is the best place to start. It explains what each data source contains and how the different sources relate to one another, helping you choose the right starting point for your report.

Q:Will the legacy reports be removed?
A: There are currently no plans to remove the legacy reports.
If this changes in the future, we'll make sure customers have plenty of advance notice and information about what to expect.
