Training technology saves fire brigade £700,000 per year

11th Sep - The London Fire Brigade has become the latest high profile organisation to switch a portion of its corporate training procedures online, and will make annual savings of £700,000 in the process, training website TrainingZone.co.uk has reported.

The fire brigade’s effectiveness relies heavily on having well-trained and qualified staff, and the e-Learning programme will allow the organisation to be far more effective at ensuring this is consistently the case.

Instead of having one training programme for the entire force, moving forward the fire brigade will be able to cater for its varied staff training needs by producing up to 450 different versions of its training programme to all employees.

Dave Evans, commercial director at accessplanit, where e-Learning is an integral part of its training technology product, said: “This is another example of an organisation improving efficiency and driving down costs where training is concerned. Where training is vital to business effectiveness, learning management systems can also be incorporated to ensure that every member of staff is trained to the necessary standard at all times – there is never room for human error when technology is incorporated.”
