Avonside Safety Management delivers specialist electrical safety training and consultancy across multiple sectors, including automotive, electric vehicle safety, high voltage systems, and healthcare. With a growing number of high-profile contracts and thousands of delegates trained annually, the organisation required a smarter, more scalable way to manage its training operation.
“We specialise in electrical safety training and authorised engineering services for major hospital networks and industrial clients,” says Ania Tinkler, HR Coordinator at Avonside. “Last year, we delivered training to almost 5,000 delegates - and this year, that number is set to triple with accessplanit."
Before adopting accessplanit, Avonside was managing its training using spreadsheets and a series of manual processes. While it worked in the early stages, rapid growth quickly made this approach unsustainable.
“There was definitely scope for improvement,” Ania explains. “Everything was stored in folders – certificates were created manually, course data was entered manually. You’d try to filter a spreadsheet and it would crash, losing data. It was incredibly time-consuming and not scalable at all.”
Manual tasks also led to administrative bottlenecks, particularly around course bookings, reminders, and certification. “We were looking to give our team the tools to focus on meaningful work instead of repetitive admin.”
While Ania wasn’t involved in the initial search, she became the Project Lead once accessplanit was chosen. With her background in HR and recruitment, she was well-versed in software and quickly took the reins.
“Nick [Director at Avonside] researched and shortlisted accessplanit, and after testing the system, we saw the potential. It was clear this would streamline our processes and help us scale.”
Implementation has been led by Ania with the support of accessplanit’s Implementation Team. “We have worked closely with Louise for the past 60 days. She was great and so supportive - we have had multiple sessions a week with her to set up the platform exactly how we'd like to use it."

Ania and the team have already set up hundreds of training courses and configured their resources, rooms, and trainers - both in-house and external. But it’s automation that they’re most excited about.
“Automated workflows are a game-changer,” says Ania. “Just the ability to automatically send course confirmations and reminders - it’s huge. You no longer worry about whether you've sent something or not. It’s just done.”

And there’s more to come. “We’ve only scratched the surface,” she adds. “Reporting and KPI tracking is next on our list. We’re doing it step by step to make sure each part is working perfectly.”
While Avonside is still in the early stages of optimising their accessplanit platform, the improvements are already clear.
“We would’ve had to hire more admin staff just to stay on top of the volume,” Ania notes. “Now, we can handle that growth with the same team - and they’re less stressed because they’re not buried in spreadsheets.”
