accessplanit Step Up to the Sport Relief Challenge

Last week, we put our best feet forward for Sport Relief.

Between 17th and 23rd March, Comic Relief’s younger, fitter sibling took the nation by storm. Set up in 2002, Sport Relief promises to support a wide variety of projects, both here and around the world, including helping those with maternal and mental health issues and providing anti-malarial drugs to those who need them most.

And accessplanit are incredibly proud to have played our part.

With the Sport Relief app downloaded, every one of us religiously and rigorously counted every step we took as part of a challenge to collectively, and figuratively, walk the 847 miles from Lands’ End to John O’Groats.

Yes, we’ve been traversing the length of the United Kingdom for charity – and while our feet might be sore by the end, nothing was going to stop us hitting our target. Literally.

Better yet, every step we took helped Sport Relief’s biggest goal: The Nation’s Billion Steps Challenge.

It might be grey and blowy up here in Lancaster, but that didn’t stop our team from taking every opportunity they can to get their step-count up! After all, as the BBC say: ‘Running, dancing, dog walking or Zumba'ing all count towards the step total.’

And, it turns out, our team found a few more, uh, creative ways to take part in this year’s Sport Relief. We had team members cranking up the competition...

 Tackling mountain peaks...

Taking table tennis to the next level...

Strolling in the sun...

Stepping stylishly into spring...

And even surfing – which absolutely doesn’t involve steps, but we’ll let it slide.

…Although we’re not sure everyone had the right idea, however well-deserved it might be.
