Could you be our US Sales Development Representative?

Established in 2001, accessplanit is an innovative software house that provides clever, cutting-edge software for training companies and departments, helping them achieve more.

As a small, successful and growing SaaS company, we are at a critical stage in our  development. Having recently launched our product to the US market and aiming to more than double our customer base in the next 3 years, we are now looking to recruit a driven Sales Development Representative who will concentrate on generating sales leads from the American East Coast

The Role

Working as part of a small team, the Sales Development Representative will be responsible for finding and securing new business and selling our products.

Key to this role, is achieving a monthly quota of demonstrations arranged and opportunities qualified. This will be achieved by researching and identifying potential best fit clients and key contacts; calling and emailing prospects to generate initial interest and setting demonstration dates for Business Development Managers.

It is the role of the SDR to develop an initial rapport with the potential customers, conducting live, high-level product demonstrations; ensuring individual customer needs are recognised and passed to the Business Development Managers.

Given the focus on the American market, the hours of work for this position are Monday to Thursday, 10am to 8pm. However, initially the hours will be Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, to allow for a full induction and process training- as this role will eventually require an amount of lone working, due to American-based hours.

To be considered for the role of Sales Development Representative candidates must have:

  • 1+ years of sales development experience in a business to business environment.
  • A track record of prospecting/lead generation.
  • A ‘hunter’ mentality - comfortable prospecting, cold-calling, and following up on incoming leads, as well as a strong desire to win.
  • A strong passion to learn and improve.
  • Confident presentation skills. Comfortable delivering to senior professionals.
  • Outstanding communication and listening skills.
  • Good time management, with strong organisational skills.

Experience of selling software, working in the training or education sector, using networking tools like LinkedIn and some form of sales training would be extremely beneficial for this role, but not essential.

The position will be based out of our Lancaster office but may involve occasional travel.

Salary

£22K-£24K OTE £30K+ uncapped

The Successful Applicant

To be considered for the role of Sales Development Representative candidates must have:

  • 1+ years of sales development experience in a B2B environment.
  • A track record of prospecting/lead generation.
  • A ‘hunter’ mentality - comfortable prospecting, cold-calling, and following up on incoming leads and strong desire to win.
  • A strong passion to learn and improve.
  • Confident presentation skills, a comfort level with senior professionals and the communications skills to articulate accessplanit solutions to a wide range of organizational and functional levels.
  • Interest in working in a fast-paced technology environment.
  • Outstanding communication and listening skills.
  • Good time management with strong organizational skills.
  • A problem solver, with the ability to think creatively.

Experience of selling software, working in the training or education sector, using networking tools like LinkedIn and some form of sales training would be extremely beneficial for this role.

Additionally, applicants must have excellent English grammar and proposal-writing skills, excellent communication skills both on the phone and in writing, an outstanding time management skills, a committed approach, and a genuine enthusiasm for understanding the prospect’s needs and requirements.

Candidates must be self-starting, motivated, goal orientated and able to work independently.
