The Lagoon Watersports centre and sailing school has 18 years experience of providing watersports training and events to individuals and groups.  The centre takes a person centred approach and offers a range of courses and lessons for adults and youngsters to take their first steps into the world of sailing and windsurfing.  Lagoon is based across three centres at Hove Lagoon, Brighton Marina and Gosport and in addition to lessons and courses, offer events for groups as well as hire and charter.

The Challenge

Prior to accessplanit the Lagoon Watersports centre and sailing school used a customised version of File Master Pro to manage the course booking and administration across the three centres.  Servers held at one location were accessed remotely and often reacted slowly causing delays and frustration.  Customers could book courses through the website, but the information had to be downloaded and manually processed.  The manual system was slow, time consuming and left room for potential duplication and error. 

The accessplanit solution

Lagoon Watersports identified the need for a cloud-based system and searched for a supplier who could focus on their three key business priorities: online booking with financial integration, resource management and communication. The business is seasonal so perhaps the greatest challenge is ensuring that trainers and equipment are maximised to their potential during peak operating times. Lagoon also have a vast portfolio of watersport equipment which need to be tracked and monitored both for usage and wear and tear. To meet this business need, an intuitive and very visual resource calendar has been developed within the accessplanit system.
