Funded by
Lancashire County Council, a large 3 star Local Authority,
Accessplan (branded LancashirePlan) is provided at no cost to every independent
care provider in the County.
The Lancashire
Workforce Development Partnership (LWDP), in partnership with independent
care providers use the system to disseminate around £2 million worth of funding
for independent sector workforce training and development.
The Lancashire
Workforce Development Partnership (LWDP), has access to anonymous workforce
profiling information, e.g. numbers of carers, county wide staff turnover, etc.
plus a fully auditable funding management system. This system allows an individual
care provider organisation to apply for funding online, following approval to book
courses online through a list of approved training providers and claim funding
when completed.
Additional benefits to stakeholders include the ability for approved training providers
to advertise their services to every carer. Care providers have access to the full
functionality of a sophisticated learning management system with specific reference
to the care sector, including the ability to automatically transfer data to the
Skills
for Care NMDS-SC spreadsheet (
Accessplan
has been tested and approved by
Skills for Care head office in January 2007).
